A closer look at our Patek Philippe Ladies' timepieces

As the last independent, family-owned Genevan watch manufacturer, Patek Philippe stands out with a rich range of watches for ladies and gentlemen. As a specialist for complicated timepieces (they make up nearly half of the current collection), the company has a leading position in watch design as evidenced by some of the most recent and important iconic models of our era – including designs such as the Calatrava or Gondolo.

We have chosen to feature two of our favourite ladies models in the Patek Philippe Collection in light of International Women's Day on Friday 8th March 2024.

Patek Philippe Ladies' Complications Ref. 7121/200G-001

A lovely example of Patek Philippe's collection of moon-phase watches for ladies is the Calatrava Ref. 7121/200G-001. The moon-phase indication has been a distinctive addition since 2013 on Reference 7121J.

Patek Philippe reinterprets this mechanical timepiece by equipping it with a white gold case and an elegant blue dial on which the displays are enhanced against the contrasting colours. The dial is adorned by a sunburst decoration creating subtle light effects.

The Manufacture also reinforces the intricate jewellery dimension of this model by illuminating its bezel with a double row of 132 brilliant-cut diamonds based on the exclusive lacy Dentelle gemsetting technique.

At the heart of this jewellery-watch, we find the manually wound mechanical Caliber 215 PS LU: the smallest Patek Philippe complicated movement that helps maintain the daintily elegant 33 mm case diameter.

Patek Philippe Gondolo Serata: Ref. 4962/200R-001

Distinguished by its Art Deco-inspired curves. This model offers a contemporary take on the evening watch with its unique design.

The Gondolo Serata Ref. 4962/200R-001, with its original style and timeless elegance, returns to the current Patek Philippe collection, in a new rose gold version with slightly larger dimensions.

The case is set with 94 brilliant-cut spessartites (2.02 cts) arranged in a double colour gradient ranging from “cognac” tones at 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock to “mandarin orange” tones at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock.

This intriguing colour transition accentuates the curved profile of the watch, which perfectly matches the shape of the wrist. A second row of spessartites on the lower part of the case emphasizes its asymmetrical curves.

The brown lacquered dial is accentuated by a floral pattern playing on the contrast between matte and polished finishes. The time is elegantly displayed by means of two Breguet rose gold numerals at 6 and 12 o’clock and rose gold leaf-shaped hands.

Equipped with a rose gold prong buckle, the chocolate brown calfskin strap with satinated finish echoes the dial colour. This timepiece houses the E15 quartz caliber.
